Take a mission trip this October 31…
to your neighborhood!

This year, instead of doing a fall festival or a “trunk or treat” event where we invite the community to come to us—we want to go out INTO the community and reflect Christ’s love on one of the spiritually darkest nights of the year. We are looking for LIFE Groups interested in hosting a Light the Night “missions outpost” (i.e. trick-or-treat station) on October 31 from 6PM - 8PM in subdivisions that have unusually high numbers of trick-or-treaters.
Each Light the Night missions outpost will be hosted at a home of a LIFE Group member and will have the following:
A 10’x10’ EZ-up tent canopy (church can provide as needed)
A folding table (church can provide as needed)
Light the Night yard signs (provided by the church)
Optional: A carnival type game for trick-or-treaters to play
Bottled water, candy and maybe food for trick-or-treaters and their families (i.e. hot dogs, nachos, corn dogs, whatever the LIFE Group decides they want to serve). FBCO will provide each LIFE Group with a $100 Walmart Gift Card to purchase food and/or candy.
Each outpost will also be equipped with simple invitation cards about our church and our children’s and student ministries to hand out to families that stop by (provided by the church).
Our goal for this incredible outreach event is to reflect Christ’s love and serve our community! This Halloween-alternative will allow our church members to meet families who are taking their kids from home to home, in turn providing widespread exposure about our church and our ministries for families and kids. It will also help host homes get to know more families from their neighborhood, which is always a good thing!
Who can participate?
Adult LIFE Groups like yours OR maybe your LIFE Group is interested in partnering with another LIFE Group to host a Light the Night outpost—that would be great also! Families with children can still participate! Create a rotation schedule with other LIFE Group families so you all have the opportunity to take your children out trick-or-treating.
