Class Options

Fall a

  • The Forgotten Jesus

    • We have lost an essential understanding of Jesus—his Jewishness.

Through the years, our understanding of Jesus has been shaped by different cultural influences, and many Western Christians have formed an inaccurate perspective of Jesus and his teachings, beliefs, and ways of acting.

  • The "I AM"

    • In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes many statements equating himself to God. In several of those instances he invokes the Divine Name, “I am,” and applies it to himself. This 7-week course will explore each of the “I am” statements in John to understand the different aspects of Jesus’s divine character. Come see how Jesus is God and the fullness of what that means.

  • Precepts for Women: Philippians

    • How do I live the Christian life joyfully regardless of people or circumstances? What is the purpose of suffering and the Christian perspective on death? Do I have "the mind of Christ"? Discover true, deep-down joy in your life that the world cannot take away!

  • Church History - Part 1

    • The story of the church does not end with the apostles. As the gospel spread, many other leaders arose who defended the faith from false teachings and helped define and clarify the doctrines and beliefs that we hold today. In Part 1 of this class, come learn about the events, people, and controversies from the early church age through the beginning of the Reformation.

Fall B

  • "Basic" Christianity

    • Have you ever wondered why Christians or the church do the things that they do?
In this class, we will explore subjects like:

      • Why does baptism matter?

      • Why do we take communion?

      •  What's the deal with church membership?

Whether you are a brand new Christian or if you have been following Jesus for years and are curious, this class is for you!!

  • How to Study the Bible

    • The Bible is a book of books. It was written by many different authors, over thousands of years, in multiple languages, and different styles and genres. This 6-week class will explore the different types of writing in scripture and how to interpret them. From historical narrative, to poetry, prophecy, and more, we’ll look at an example of each to learn how to understand the Bible within its own context.

  • Precepts for Women: Colossians

    • What does it mean to be "complete in Christ"? Is Christ your "all-in-all" — does He meet all your needs? Don't let anyone delude you with man-made philosophies or traditions that contradict the Word of God.

See precisely what the Bible says about Paul’s, Timothy’s, and other early church members' relationships with God.

  • Church History - Part 2

    • The story of the church does not end with the apostles. As the gospel spread, many other leaders arose who defended the faith from false teachings and helped define and clarify the doctrines and beliefs that we hold today. In Part 2 of History of the Faith, we’ll pick up the story with the Reformation and continue through to the modern day church.
