Preschool: God Protected Daniel (based on Exodus 13:17-22; 14)

Unit Verse: God, You are great, and no one is like You. 2 Samuel 7:22

Weekly Verse: “God is our helper.” - Psalm 46:1

Life Point: God loves and helps people.

Live it Out: Enjoy a trip to the zoo to see the lions or watch videos about lions with your child. Talk about lions—strong, big, and scary. Say that God helped Daniel be safe with the lions. Tell the Bible story. Remark that God is our helper. Say that He loves and helps people. Pray, thanking God for loving and helping us.

Elementary: Daniel in the Lion’s Den (Daniel 6)

Unit Verse: “Our Lord is great, vast in power; his understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147:5

Weekly Bible Verse: “This is why you are great, Lord God. There is no one like you, and there is no God besides you.” - 2 Samuel 7:22

Life Point: God has power to protect His people.

The Bible Meets Life: This Bible story demonstrates the power God has to protect His people. Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den because of the actions of jealous officials. God protected Daniel from the lions, and Daniel emerged unharmed.

Live It Out: Talk about how God protected Daniel in the lions’ den. Mention times when your child might need protection and how he can trust God to protect him.

Meet our Candidate for Children’s Director

Saturday, December 3rd (Vote on December 6th)

We have a candidate for our new Children’s Director as Pastor Josh Renck takes on the role of Adult Ministries Pastor and Pastor Tom Dawson “sorta retires” and becomes our Minister to Older Adults. Here’s the schedule of events for our new candidate coming in view of a call to FBCO:

Sharing Her Testimony During Morning Services

Church-wide Q&A
4PM — Chapel

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6

Vote to Call in Midweek Worship
6PM — Chapel

Our candidate will share briefly in both services on Sunday, December 3 and we’ll also have a church-wide Q&A later at 4PM in the Chapel. The church will vote on Wednesday, December 6.

Membership Class

Sunday, November 19th | 4pm - 6pm | Room 154

This class is for those who are not yet members of FBCO and would like to join or learn more about us. Childcare is provided up to 5th grade.

Buddy Break

Friday, December 1st | 6pm - 8pm | KidsLife Center

Buddy Break is a FREE respite program where children, youth and young adults with special needs (VIPs: Age 4 - 29 years old) make new friends, play fun games, enjoy crafts, stories, music and more! Meanwhile, their parents/caregivers can enjoy time away from their ongoing care-giving responsibilities for two hours.

Buddy Break is open to VIP’s and their siblings (Age 4 - 5th grade). Each VIP and sibling(s) is paired one-on-one with a Buddy.

Gingerbread Bash

Friday, December 8th | 6:30pm - 8pm | North Gym | $10 per Family

Gingerbread Bash is back and better than ever!!

It’s a gingerbread nativity building party designed for the whole family. In addition to building and decorating your own gingerbread nativity, you’ll get to play games, sing songs, hear the Christmas story from the Bible, and discover the good news of Jesus. It’s a truly sweet way for your family to celebrate the birth of our Savior!

You are absolutely not going to want to miss out on the fun, but we need you to register! You can do that by registering below!

More Than Moms

Sunday, December 10th | 6pm - 7:45pm | KidsLife Center

More than Moms is a place for preschool and elementary moms to feel encouraged, be equipped and engage with other moms all while applying the gospel to our everyday lives.

Come connect with other moms to find your complete identity as woman, wife, mother and most importantly—a child of God.

We will share a potluck dinner. Sign up for dishes is on our Facebook page.

KidsCare is offered for preschoolers through 5th grade and is limited. If needed, please select during registration.

CAC Christmas Blessings (First Students & Families)

Sunday, December 11th or 12th | 4pm

Calling all First Student parents, students and young adults!

We are looking for volunteers to help serve on December 11th and 12th. We will have the Christian Activities Center of Fairmont City on December 11th and Christian Activity Center of East STL on December 12th, both will be joining us at 4:30pm for a time of cookie decorating, inflatables and fellowship.

Would you be willing to serve from 4:00pm from 7:30pm? We are blessed to be able to be a blessing. Help us serve our community this Christmas!
