Purpose
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that all church buildings, grounds, and facilities are clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained to support worship services, ministries, educational programs, and community events. This position provides direct supervision of custodial and maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance, manages facility work orders, and serves as a steward of the church's physical resources.

Facility Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all church buildings, grounds, parking lots, playgrounds, and all other ministry related facilities.
Perform and/or coordinate routine maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building repairs. Oversee maintenance and coordinate repair of buses and other church property and equipment.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime.
Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Work with Pastor over Building and Grounds to coordinate with licensed contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and capital improvement projects.
Custodial Operations
Supervise daily custodial operations to ensure facilities are clean, sanitary, and prepared for worship services, ministry functions, school, and special events.
Develop cleaning schedules and quality standards for all areas of the building.
Train custodial staff in proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
Staff Supervision
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate maintenance and custodial personnel.
Assign daily work orders and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and excellent customer service.
Ensure employees follow church policies and safety procedures.
Facility Support
Coordinate room setups and teardowns for worship services, ministry activities, school functions, and special events.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from church staff and school administration.
Provide on-site support during major church events as needed.
Participate in emergency response planning and facility preparedness.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local building and health codes, and church safety policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain records for inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment servicing.
Ensure fire protection systems, emergency lighting, and security systems are functioning properly.
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safely operate maintenance tools, custodial equipment, and powered machinery.

Work Schedule
Full-time (40 hours per week)
Generally, Monday through Friday with flexibility required.
Evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call hours may be necessary to support worship services, special events, and emergency facility needs.
