Elementary Associate

Purpose

  • To provide creative and visionary leadership for Elementary ministry, and administrative support for all aspects of KidsLife ministry.

Reports to

  • Children’s Director

General Office Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall KidsLife calendar, coordinating with other ministry areas and staying up-to-date on church-wide activities.

  • Maintain general office supplies.

  • Track budget items in conjunction with the Children’s Director.

  • Use Google Drive to maintain and keep up-to-date records, documents, and information for the KidsLife team.

  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.

Creative & Communication

  • Maintain KidsLife Ministry page and events on church website.

  • Coordinate with volunteers for events and weekly activities.

  • Schedule posts and maintain Facebook account.

  • Create and send weekly parent and leader emails.

  • Collaborate with the development of special curriculum, as directed by the Children’s Director.

Kids LIFE Groups & Children’s Worship

  • Assist in leading large group lessons on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and maintaining volunteers.

  • Volunteer onboarding (applications, background checks, etc.).

  • Process guest information and assist in follow up process.

  • Maintain LIFE Group rosters and track weekly attendance.

  • Secure substitute leaders as needed and correspond to ensure all information, materials and supplies are provided.

  • Serve as a substitute teacher as needed.

  • Check classrooms each week for cleanliness and custodial services.

  • Provide ministry support, as needed, for three hours on Sunday mornings.

  • Attend and support leader huddles/meetings.

Special Event Coordination

Actively attend, support and coordinate different KidsLife events throughout the year. These events may require hours worked outside of regular office hours. The Elementary Associate’s schedule will flex as needed during these times.

Special events may include, but are not limited to: Vacation Bible School, Back to School events, various family events, and others as planned by the KidsLife team.

Areas of responsibility for special events may include, but are not limited to:

    • Event promotion (social media, emails, etc.).

    • Registration (forms, tracking, organization).

    • Finances (payments received, payments made to facilities, etc.)

    • Supplies (ordering, shopping, organization).

    • Food/Meals (catering orders, receiving orders, etc.).

    • Recruiting (leaders, volunteers, etc.).

    • Communication (emails, meetings, registrant correspondence, etc.).

General Expectations

    • Actively seeking growth through personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

    • Member of First Baptist Church O’Fallon, or willing to become a member.

    • Attitude of teamwork with other staff members.

    • Strives for excellence in ministry.

    • Think proactively about ministry activities and responsibilities.

    • Other duties as assigned by Children’s Director or church needs.

Work Schedule

  • Up to 37.5 hours/week.

  • Regular office hours will be determined by the Children’s Director. Hours may be flexed to accomplish ministry needs (when evening hours are required).
